Cours international

3rd international course on developmental biology: from stem cells to morphogenesis - 2012

The aim of the programme is to provide the participants a comprehensive coverage of the paradigms, problems and technologies of modern Developmental Biology with a particular attention to stem cells. Training in theoretical and experimental aspects of normal and abnormal development is delivered through a variety of embryonic systems using state-of-the-art instrumentation and methodology.

The Institut Curie and UPMC organize their 3rd International Developmental Biology course in collaboration with the Regenerative and Developmental Biology programme of Harvard University from September 24 to October 26 2012.
Practicals: September 24 - October 12, 2012 (3 weeks)
Lectures: October 15 - 26, 2012 (2 weeks)

Organizers: Claire Fournier-Thibault, Muriel Umbhauer, Yohanns Bellaïche, Jean-René Huynh

The programme is proposed in two versions: a 5 week-long course including 3 weeks of practicals and 2 weeks of lectures (limited to 18 students) or a 2 week-long version including only the lectures (limited to 35). Students will present scientific articles related to the topics discussed. Students and lecturers will have the opportunity to meet during an informal coffee break/lunch every day.
The UPMC grants 12 ECTS for the 5 week-long course and 6 ECTS for the 2 week-long course.

This course is open to Master 2 or PhD students. Students will be selected on their University scientific background and their motivation to attend the course. There are no registration fees.
Travel and accommodation are not covered, but foreign students or French students living outside the Parisian area can apply for fellowships at the time of registration. Selected students will be reimbursed for travel and accommodation at the level of 500 €.
