For the fifth year, the European course of ‘in vivo Preclinical Assays in Cancer Therapy’ is jointly organized with the NKI in Amsterdam. This Symposium is an extensive training program designed to educate and update the biomedical research community on current trends and technological advances in vivo preclinical assays in cancer.
The emphasis of this course will be on the use of genetically engineered mouse models and patient-derived xenograft (PDX) models for in vivo preclinical research, but also in vitro preclinical assays employing established tumor cell lines and functional genomics approaches will be discussed.
The course will also cover the following topics: humanized mouse models, preclinical imaging, angiogenesis and metastasis in vivo, therapy resistance models and approaches, regulatory animal requirement, ethics and co-clinical trials.
