9th epigenetics course - 2013

The aim of this course is to provide an overview of the epigenetic mechanisms and their link to chromatin dynamics. The different functions of the nucleus involving the genome and its organization will be discussed with an emphasis on technological limits and recently developed experimental approaches. Links between defects in nuclear function and organization and their impact on the development of human pathologies will also be discussed.

The success of the course relies on an active participation of the trainees which are expected to engage in all of the organized events in a highly proactive way. This includes i) the poster presentation of their own scientific project, ii) the active participation to the Journal Club by reviewing and presenting key articles in the field chosen by the speakers), iii) the participation to the brunch on carrier development (Saturday morning) and to the epi-Courses such as the “Art & Science” workshop.

Organizers: Geneviève Almouzni, Nathalie Dostatni

This course is open to:
- M2 or Ph. D students (up to 12) of Parisian universities: 5 positions reserved to M2 students from UPMC
- Master or Ph. D students from France at large and European universities (up to 12)

This course will last 8 full days and can be validated by 6 ECTS for UPMC M2 and 60 hours for PhD students.

Selection based on application

Scientific papers selected within the main topics covered during the course will be sent to the accepted applicants who will be analyzing them to present them during the course.
A poster presentation as an integrated part of the training to communicate scientific work with accuracy in a critical manner will involve all participants. This will be based on a prepared poster by each participant on their own research project, to be posted the 1st day of the course.

To register to the course, you should create your account on the website. Then, you will be able to proceed with the registration to this course with the "registration" button on this page.
