Job Offer "Training Manager"

The Training Unit at the Institut Curie is seeking for an experienced and highly motivated Training Manager to consolidate and further develop Institut Curie’s advanced training program in cancer research and medicine.

The training manager would join a team currently consisting of 3 employees, built as a new institutional entity (see the Website: and headed by Dr Genevieve Almouzni, coordinator of the training programs (Institut Curie Research Center) with Pr François Doz as deputy coordinator (Institut Curie Hospital Group).

The key missions for the position are as follows:

Consolidate and develop the existing programs:

1. Consolidate and develop the Institut Curie International Courses based on feedback surveys, scientific development and medical needs
2. Consolidate and develop the portfolio of generic courses, high technology and soft courses, promoting integration of research and medicine (through programs between PhD students, post-doc, medical students, residents, fellows,)
3. Follow up the International PhD program (recruitment) and all thesis committee in connection with Doctorate schools and partner Universities as well as the Master and PhD programs for medical students
4. Mentoring program to provide tools to promote career development for post-docs and junior group leaders

Help creating, develop and promote new programs:

1. Coordinate the activities with the Training team and the Coordinator
2. Organize reporting on activities and establish common data bases for the training unit
3. Reinforce and develop our regional, national and international partnerships
4. Seek program funding through preparation of various procedures: public or private grants (i.e. European Commission, private for profit or not for profit organizations) and any other funding opportunities (public subventions for instance)
5. Coordinate and develop partnership opportunities (domestic/international Universities, research centers, hospitals etc.) opportunities with the Coordinator
6. build, maintain and develop an alumni network (including taking over the existing network and expending it to a larger resource)

Candidates profile:

Interested applicants should have a PhD or equivalent with an attested experience in managing projects and experience in training. Fluent in both English and French, he/she should have excellent communication skills, including writing for lay out audience as well as for more specialized audience (academic or medical), an editorial experience would be appreciated.
He/she should be familiar with Web based technologies for planning, managing and data base search in the advanced training areas. A scientific/ or Medical background would be most appreciated, and previous experience in managing a training program in an international environment would be a plus.
