The public can discover the scientific research and the activities of the Institut Curie through several initiatives such as:

The « Apprentis chercheurs » programme

The Institut Curie takes part in the « Apprentis chercheurs » programme put in place by the Association for the promotion of science and research (APSR). This programme is aimed to expose students in high school to a career in research.
Every year, selected pupils come to our labs two Wednesday afternoons per month for 6 months. A high school and a secondary school pupil are involved in easy scientific experiments, they follow their tutor during his/her work and the student gives a short presentation at the end of the internship. A certificate is delivered to all the pupils upon completion of the programme.
Since 2008, about 60 pupils from secondary schools and high schools have been hosted in our labs by researchers, engineers, technicians, PhD students or postdoctoral fellows in one of the significant fields of research of the Institut Curie: biology, physics, chemistry and bioinformatics.
